2013 Choirs

This year at Salem Hills High Maddy sang in the Singer's group and Concert Choir where she served as Vice President. Joey sang in the Men's Camarata group. These are the pictures of each of the groups.

Salt Lake Father and Sons

This year's High Adventure camp was going to be in Moab, Utah. I had taken the time off of work and was looking forward to spending it with Joey, however I tweaked my back just a few days before we were supposed to leave. Joey and I worked out a backup plan which included a night at the Hilton in downtown Salt Lake City, dinner at The Pie downtown, baptisms at the Salt Lake Temple, a 3D movie at the IMAX at the Hansen Planeterium, lunch at Culvers, then a day of mini-golfing at two different locations, topped off by Dinner at Red Robins and then another movie. It was a whirlwind few days together but a really fun experience. Joey is so much fun to be with and always finds creative things to do.

Snow White

Ever since Maddy was little, she's loved dressing up as Snow White. Now, almost 18, she actually plays the part pretty well with her dark hair and light complexion. In fact, she plays it so well that a friend of hers invited her to participate in a Princess Pageant in Salem, Utah. She did a great job as you can tell from the pictures and the kids that adored her.

2013 Choir Tour - Seattle

Earlier this year the SHHS choir visited Seattle for a whirlwind tour including performances at St. Marks and St. James' Cathedrals, an LDS sacrament meeting and an LDS fireside where the Total Experience Gospel Choir joined them. I had some work to do in Seattle so I was able to join for a few of the days and spend some time with my family as well. Below are pictures from the trip.

Cousin Elise

Maddy and Joey love all their cousins, but probably spend the most time with Elise Halliday, Jeni's brother Bob's daughter. Elise is just a little bit younger than Joey and is one year behind him in school. She is a very talented dancer and Joey and I recently went to see her perform. This picture was after that performance was over.
2013 Sweethearts - Maddy

Well I guess I'm about 6 months behind on my blogging. Here are some pictures from Maddy's sweethearts school dance on February 16, 2013. Her date was Blake Provostgaard.

William Joseph

William Joseph is an amazing pianist who has several CD's out on the market. He is a prodigee of David Foster and has played all over the world. You can see some of his music at william-joseph.com. I am a fan of his on Facebook and so last week, I was excited to see this post.

"Guess what? I JUST had this Thursday and Friday open up while I am here in Provo, so I would like to offer some private classes. I have had a lot of you request this so here it is! The class will be available to all musicians and/or vocalists. You can choose what you would like the focus to be on. Arranging, composing, accompanying, what ever you would like to work on. If this is something you are interested please message me on facebook and I will give you the details. Let me know what you would like to do and give me your phone number and a direct email."

I immediately messaged him about doing a two hour lesson for Joey and later got an e-mail from his assistant asking what our availability looked like. We worked it out and then on Thursday it happened. It was an incredible experience for Joey, for me and for Maddy who tagged along. Joey really connected with what he taught and at the end William suggested that he might have an opening for ongoing lessons through Skype since he lives in Arizona.  Below are some pictures from the day.
