Fresh Orange Juice

I found this in the refrigerator a few days ago. Looks like someone wanted freshly squeezed orange juice without doing the work to get it! No one is confessing at this point but I have a hunch who may have done this and his name starts with a "J."

Quote 45

What counts is not the age so much as the prospect; not the mileage traveled or ahead, but the view from this bend in the road.

Court of Honor

Last night I attended a Court of Honor for Joey's Boy Scout Troop. Joey was awarded 5 merit badges he had earned at scout camp; Archery, Rifle Shooting, Environmental Science, Basketry and Woodcarving. He is one merit badge and 2 weeks of time away from earning his Star award which should be awarded in November. Also at the Court of Honor, one of our neighbors, Ethan Morley, a 10 year old, was awarded the National Boy Scout Lifesaving award. Earlier this year his house caught on fire while his parents were gone and after exiting the house, he realized his 4 year old brother was still inside. He went back into the burning home, found the brother hiding in a closet and brought him out to safety. It was a well attended event and several news stations and papers were there to cover the award. Below are some pictures of the night.

2009 School Pictures

I still can't believe how fast the kids are growing up. Here are this year's school pictures. Is it just me or could these pictures easily be from the 80's? Funny how styles and fashions reappear just when you least expect them to.

Wendy's HR Dinner

This week our Wendy's Region HR team met in Salt Lake City and I had the entire group, 13 of us, over for dinner on Thursday night. It was an enjoyable evening and I was grateful for the chance to feed everyone! Below are pictures from the night as well as the menu.

A Day to Remember

Last Saturday Joey was ordained as a Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a wonderful experience for all of us and thankfully Mike and Kaye flew in from Missouri and many other family members were able to attend. As special as that experience was for me, the highlight of the day was a trip to the Temple as a family. Being in the temple with our entire family was an experience I'll not soon forget. What a blessing to have Temples nearby. Below are a few pictures from the day.
